Change DF-602 folding mountain bike test
Change DF-602 folding mountain bike test ride
Last week we headed over to Swinley forest trail centre with the brand new Change DF-602 to demonstrate just how versatile and easy to use this folding mountain bike can be.
Test rider Joe Farley from Sparsholt college was kind enough to join us to put the new full size folding bike through it’s paces.
With perfect weather and conditions, Joe got to grips with the unfamiliar folding bike very quickly and had it set up and ready to ride in no time. As we hit the trails, it became quickly evident that the Change is so much more than just a folding bike. The bike performed as well as any of the other regular hire bikes at the bike hub yet provided a stress free days riding as the bike was folded up and put back in the car without the need to lower the back seats or use any kind of cycle carrier. All Change bikes come with a carry bag which can be used to store or transport the bike when it is folded, this comes in extremely handy when packing the bike into the car as it keeps the dirt contained and keeps the back of your vehicle clean after a hard days riding.
Thanks to the Shimano XT groupset, Fox 32 forks with remote lockout, Mavic wheels and familiar MTB geometry, the Change folding bike handled very well up against a standard mountain bike. Joe said ‘it feels just like a regular hardtail, there is no flex or movement in the folding mechanism and the bike doesn’t feel any heavier or more difficult to ride than any other XC bike for a similar price’.
The Change folding mountain bike adds a different dimension to your days riding without compromising on performance or handling, see it for yourself in our video or visit your local Change Bike dealership to arrange a test ride.
Huge thanks to Kammo video for the filming and to Joe Farley.
